TV Shows are the Soundtrack of my life
If you can believe it, today I watched every episode of Everybody Hates Chris that has been made. Shockingly enough, it turned out not to be a show that required its audience's undivided attentions. For most of the episodes I just did research. Chris' mother, Rochelle, is a blast from the black sitcom past, but other than that its a pretty forgettable show.
Speaking of Martin, I would like to draw attention to a good black sitcom, My Wife and Kids. Its worthy of attention because it was on ABC (not UPN or even NBC) for 4 long years before it was cancelled. It must have been that
To get back to the subject of Everybody Hates Chris, watching it reminded me of Chris Rock's standout episode of the MTV show, Diary. He pretends to kick people when they are not looking and steals CDs (this was in a more innocent time before all reality shows were scripted). He also runs into Rahzel. The best part is when he says, "He's a blind rapper. He's a BLAPPER." I guess its not that funny written out or funny at all unless Chris Rock says it in his angry black man voice topped by his shitface Bamboozled grin.
The title of this post refers to a line from Chris' Diary episode. He's listening and singing along to Boy George in his car and says, music is the soundtrack of my life (which is then beaten into the viewer's head with MTV's dated graphics and echo voice over). Since I deleted all of my music in a moment of retarded fury, I have come to view TV shows as the soundtrack of my life with similar Chris Rockian sentiments.
One thing did shock me during my binge viewing/listening of Everybody Hates Chris. I learned that on UPN (ACHTUNG: I aM aBoUT To SaY tHe N wOrD) the word, "nigger," can be said by White people (notice the choice capitalizations;), and a red-head at ThAt.
In other news, Tim Gunn was on Conan 2nite. He's a very lithe man. Here's an extended youtube of Keith's exit interview. He's a faker.
Oh and the new SlAnG for
